Mr Chia's work life mission is to help entrepreneurs build amazing companies. He assists startup founders to think strategically about their products, services, operations, execution, and marketing.
Previously, he was a Principal at 1337 Ventures where he actively participated in portfolio management and deal sourcing across a broad range of sectors in the SE-Asia region namely in Malaysia, Vietnam, Indonesia and the Philippines. He is also a regular panel judge at Google’s hackathons and has assisted the DOST with a series of initiatives to spur growth as part of the Philippine Roadmap for Digital Startups. He was covered as well in Forbes as part of his early involvement in nurturing a number of Bitcoin startups since 2010. Outside the realm of start-ups, Mr Chia has had prior experience as a high frequency trader trading oil derivatives at the Met Group in London.
Mr Chia holds a Law degree from Bristol University, a Masters in Petroleum Law and Policy and is a Barrister called to the London bar.
